Singer Udit Narayan has found himself in the middle of a controversy. In a viral video from one of his recent live shows, the singer is seen kissing a female fan as he was performing the song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ from the film Mohra on stage.

In the video, a fan is seen approaching the singer for a photo. Udit bends down to pose and the fan gives him a kiss on the cheek after which Udit kisses her back on the lips. Then the security take away the female fan.

Speaking about the incident to Hindustan Times, Udit said, “Fans itne deewane hote hain na. Hum log aise nahi hain, hum decent log hain (Fans are crazy people. We are not like that, we are decent people). Some people encourage this and show their love through this. Udaake kya karna hai ab iss cheez ko? (What’s the need to blow up this thing?)”

He added, “There are so many people in the crowd, and we have bodyguards present too. But fans think they are getting a chance to meet, so someone extends their hands for a handshake, some kiss the hands... yeh sab deewangi hoti hai. Uspe itna dhyaan nahi dena chahiye (All of this is done out of love. One should not pay much heed to it).”

The video went viral and has been inviting intense reactions from people on the internet with some questioning the fan for crossing a boundary while others accusing Udit of indecent behavior.
